TRAUMA
Advanced care for life’s unexpected injuries.
Accidents happen — and when they do, fast, expert care is critical. Louisiana Orthopedic Surgery Center offers same-day orthopedic trauma and fracture surgery for broken bones, dislocations, and other acute injuries. Our skilled surgeons use modern outpatient methods to stabilize injuries and promote optimal healing, so you can start recovering sooner.
Distal fibula ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) is a surgical procedure used to treat fractures of the distal fibula, the smaller bone on the outer side of the lower leg. The procedure involves surgically realigning the broken bone (open reduction) and securing it with screws, plates, or rods (internal fixation) to ensure proper healing. This surgery is typically performed when the fracture is displaced or unstable, and it helps restore strength and stability to the ankle and lower leg.
Intramedullary nailing (IMN) is a surgical procedure used to treat fractures of long bones, such as the femur or tibia. It involves inserting a metal rod (nail) into the marrow cavity of the bone to stabilize and align the fracture. The rod is typically secured with screws at both ends to hold the bone in place during healing. IMN is commonly used for fractures that are unstable or in difficult-to-treat areas, providing a strong internal support while allowing the bone to heal.
Clavicle ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) is a surgical procedure used to treat a fractured clavicle (collarbone). The surgery involves realigning the broken bone (open reduction) and securing it with screws, plates, or rods (internal fixation) to hold the pieces in place while they heal. This procedure is typically recommended for fractures that are displaced, unstable, or difficult to heal with non-surgical methods.
